Studies in Color

2026

Grids are prevalent in our everyday lives…

calendars,

shelves of books,

items in the grocery store,

closet organizers,

windows of buildings,

city streets as seen on a map.

They symbolize a desire to maintain order through organization, a way to try to make sense of something.

As I explore color in my work, I often come back to grids as a format to play with the juxtaposition of various hues, tints, shades, and saturations.

As I build the layers, it’s as if the colors are conversing.
